APT is much more than the machines that operate on our site. We have a wealth of skill and knowledge in all the staff we employ.
We invest in our people. Every engineer begins at APT on an intensive 4 year training course and our managerial team have lifelong experience in manufacturing precision turned parts and CNC milled components. We continually support every member of staff to improve their know-how.
Nick joined APT in 2006. He has worked in turned parts for over 30 years, gaining experience in countries across Europe, including Hungary, Holland and Germany.
He is responsible for our production, operations and business strategy.

Andy joined APT in 2003 and has extensive knowledge and experience in CNC machining.
He plans our machine workloads and liaises with the customers, as well as overseeing our four year training scheme.

Simon has worked for APT since 2010. He works closely with the engineers, offering technical support on tooling, design and methods and ensures that we are using the most up to date machinery available.
He also oversees areas of the production process such as quality, 3D CAD and AS9100D conformance.

The company was founded in 1955 and David Bailey took over as Managing Director in 1970. Since then, APT has grown in size, technology and knowledge to provide our customers with the best, most precise service in precision turned parts design and manufacturing.
From the beginning, our ethos has always been to invest in the most up to date software and machinery while maintaining traditional values. APT’s operations are overseen by David’s daughter, Angela Whitmore, who co-manages the company with Nick Baller.
